So what's your excuse?

Let me guess, you need to lose 5 more lbs before you want that family photograph done? Maybe someone in the family isn't getting along?
Is someone ill?

We experienced cancer in my own family. Almost exactly six years ago my daughter, Canyon, was diagnosed with Leukemia (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia). Yes, I do have a lot of pictures. And yes, a lot of the pictures of the people in them have annoyed expressions on their faces because they were so sick of the camera in their face. But - I have them and I wish I had more. It was a painful time and in no means would I want to relive it, but I'd do anything to hang onto every single moment, every single emotion. And now, I can't get some of those moments back. I will remember - for a time, but those memories will eventually fade.

Don't make an excuse. Do it. I promise you there is no better time than NOW to get it done? You don't need a professional photographer. Grab a neighbor, a friend, let them take the picture for you.

You never know what tomorrow will hold. Document the now. Save the memories because someday that's all you'll have.

These two little ones are just gorgeous. Such big, beautiful eyes. Baby was awake most of the session and finally fell asleep at the end. But I'm glad we got those beautiful eyes!

I can't believe it's this time of year already... though I love fall I'm not too sure I'm ready for snow. Last years winter was just simply too long.

If you've already had your session, no worries, you can still order a template. The charge is $10.00. Your choice of either 4x6 or a 5x7 size and the file will be ready for printing. If you have already had your session you can e-mail me with your favorite picture(s) and pick your favorite card template. The file can then be e-mailed to you once payment is received.

If your session is scheduled you can pay an additional $10.00 at the time of your session. After you receive your disc you can e-mail me with your favorite picture(s) file numbers and pick your favorite card template. The file will then be e-mailed to you.

I'm pretty sure when this sweet little bug came to visit me during her 6 month session, a few months back, that I was ready to claim her as my own. Here's the scoop. I met Melissa over facebook.. I honestly can't remember exactly what the circumstances were (I blame this on my age and horrible memory... and having 5 kids probably doesn't help either).

She is also a photographer in Salt Lake - Missy Lee Photography.

She is amazingly sweet with fabulous talent.

We have talked on the phone, bounced business ideas off each other and sent many messages via facebook... and we were finally able to meet face to face. I instantly fell in love with her and her family.

We headed out, what started as a fairly nice day, in late October. But it quickly turned ghastly, dark and dangerous (not really dangerous). Actually, can you consider a two year old dangerous? Hee. Hee. She was NOT interested in me or my camera. (I'm not sure if she was really interested in her mom and dad either). Regardless, we were able to get some good shots. But with the storm coming in and the wind blowing like crazy... it was kind of pointless. We re-scheduled a couple of times, but due to the great Utah winter weather... we had to cancel a couple of times too.

BUT...we made it to our "take 2" session. And it was SOOOOO worth it.

I know I'm her mom... but isn't she stinkin' cute!! We finally got her blessed this past Sunday. It was perfect. She was a happy girl and behaved herself. Thanks to all of our family for making the drive. We sure love you guys!

Wow. During a session you can stumble across that "sweet spot". We left this session with an amazing history lesson about a little house built in Franklin, Idaho in the late 1800's. Amazing. We had a great time and learned a lot about a very sweet couple and part of their amazing journey.

Life is too Precious

I am convinced she will grow up to be a teacher. With a pure heart she is always volunteering to help whoever, wherever and whenever she can. We are so blessed to have celebrated her 10th Birthday.

She is loving.
She is always happy (when she gets her way. wink. wink).
And she is as stubborn as hell!

And I thank God every day that she is all these things, especially stubborn. See, she was diagnosed with Leukemia right after her 6th Birthday. Cancer makes you putty in it's own hands. Cancer makes you physically weak. But Cancer can also make you emotionally strong. The experiences we've had has molded our lives into a fabulous, spinning ball of light. We learned not take the little things for granted. We still sometimes get caught up in "life". But we try so hard to remember what's important. It's who you are and what you can become that matters!

I don't normally share too much of our personal lives on this blog... but the emotions are just too close to the surface. We are sneaking up on 5 years of being cancer free. It has been quite the journey and has shaped us to who we are today. I wouldn't take it back and I most definitely wouldn't ask for a "do over". I love who we are today... and who we have become.

To all of those who have experienced cancer or know someone who has... God Bless.

We are one of those nerdy families... all of our names start with a "C" or "K". It didn't start intentionally but it did end that way. Not only is this little man gorgeous but he has an AWESOME name (L.O.V.E it). Good job mamma! He's absolutely beautiful. AND his hair - - - seriously to die for.

Ha. Doesn't he have an awesome name. :) He was such a sweetie and this boy loves his mamma. Cash got a little tired during his shoot so mamma picked him up for some snuggle time - and that baby just LOVED it. It was soo cute. Cash is 8 weeks so we weren't able to get the curled up newborn shots, but he cooperated so well. Dad coaches the Preston Indians here in town... so of course, he had a football in hand! BTW dad... awesome game Friday night!

You two are ridiculously in love. KaeCee's sister, Syd came along during our shoot and we had to keep reminding them that we were done shooting and they could quit being so lovey... sigh. Young love. We wish you two the best of luck in this new chapter of your lives.
